Reunitied

By: Annette Camp

Another piece of blackout poetry from The New Yorker magazine:

May 8, 2017.

A girlfriend.
A rose.
The quiet
surrounding
both.

Determined
to listen
until the
reach of
darkness.

Tears
exchanged.
Lovers
shared
promises,
close
bodies,
history of
romances.

Reunited
to love.
Epic
morning
song.

And soon
after,
life felt
easy to
sing to
the music
every
year.
